Idle No More launched a Termination Tables campaign to ensure widespread understanding among Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples of attempts by the federal government to extinguish Inherent, Aboriginal and Treaty Rights and convert “Indian Bands” into municipal-type governments where federal and provincial powers will dominate First Nations powers. This campaign began with a webinar series and has included educational videos and widely disseminated infographics. The next phase will include education and training focused on ensuring access to information and strategy development sessions for impacted First Nations and broadening support among allies. It is planned to culminate in a series of concerted actions that will place an alternative agenda for Indigenous rights and ecological security front and centre in Canadian politics.
