Prime Minister Stephen Harper is scheduled to visit to the Blood Reserve, in Treaty No. 7 territory on Friday February 7, 2014. Prime Minister Harper will be in attendance to make an announcement, along with National Chief Shawn Atleo and other Assembly of First Nations representatives on the First Nations Education Act (FNEA). The FNEA disregards our jurisdiction, inherent rights and the Treaty right to Education without our Free, Prior and Informed Consent. The FNEA does not address the chronic underfunding of First Nations education on reserves. Blood Tribe members, other First Nations’, and supporters will be in attendance to have a peaceful assembly showing our opposition to the First Nations Education Act (FNEA) .
