Since and before the inception of Idle No More, Kanaka Maoli and supporters have been protecting the sacred mountain, Mauna Kea. Currently there are thirteen massive telescopes on the mountain and plans by the Thirty Meter Telescope Corporation to further desecrate the mountain have gained international attention and support for land protection. In the past year, Pua Case of the Flores-Case ‘Ohana and Idle No More supporters have hosted hundreds of interventions. In October 2014, the construction of the telescope was stopped.
