It is imperative that Indigenous peoples understand the current First Nations Education reform underway as it has generational implications for our children. The Government of Canada in collaboration with the Assembly of First Nations (AFN) proposed a Memorandum to Cabinet (MC) that was introduced and accepted at the recent AFN Chiefs Assembly (Dec. 5-7). The MC process will have significant and generational impacts on the Treaty term and promise to Education. The current Education reform process will bring an internationally recognized Treaty (Education term and promise) under Canada to have it domesticated and forever extinguished for future generations. This webinar is meant to share information with people who are the title and rights holders so they are aware of the implications these processes have on the Treaty right to Education.
