Satsi Naziel-Well I grew up the city of Prince George most of my life, last summer I decided to move away from the city and into the traditional lifestyle of the cabin. I decided to do that because when I lived in the city, I felt so incomplete, I had my family with me, nice clothes, friends, everything you need to live a "good" life in the system, but there was still something missing. And last summer I discovered what my traditions are, I discovered how my ancestors lived, and how it was a perfect solution to live a happy fullfilled life, to bring strength and good health to our people, to protect the land, the animals, and to reassert our aboriginal ownership over the territory that was given to us to protect. I found my spirit, that's what was missing in my life.
I live at the Unist'ot'en cabin. It is placed directly on the right of way of the pipelines for the purpose to block, preserve and defend our ancestors way of life from pipelines, mining and all industries and corrupt people who wish to harm it.
My new home is not only a blockade, but a solution to all problems indigenous people face today, spirutal or physical.

Elle-Maiji Tailfeathers-has helped organize the resistance against fracking on the Blood reserve. Last September, Tailfeathers was one of three women arrested for peacefully blockading the entrance of the first drilling site. After her release, Tailfeathers, who had been working as an actor, created a film to help raise awareness about fracking on the Blood reserve. That film, Bloodland, has just completed the festival circuit, where it has received positive reviews and inspired national debate. Tailfeathers’ second short film, A Red Girl’s Reasoning, about violence against indigenous women, recently won the Crazy 8s contest for films made in eight days or less. The Crazy 8s’s website describes A Red Girl’s Reasoning: “After the justice system fails the victim of a brutal, racially driven sexual assault, she becomes a motorcycle-riding, ass-kicking vigilante who takes on the attackers of other women who’ve suffered the same fate.” Tailfeathers is currently working on the screenplay for her first feature-length narrative film, set on the Blood reserve.

Chrissy Swain- Booshoo! My spirit name is Southern Wind Woman, I come from the lynx clan. My engish name is Chrissy Swain, I am a youth of Asubpeeschoseewagong - the ojibway name for Grassy Narrows, which is located 80 kilometers north of Kenora, Ontario.
"It was below zero degrees Fahrenheit on the night of Dec. 2, 2002, when sisters and young indigenous mothers Chrissy and Bonnie Swain from the Grassy Narrows First Nation drove from their reserve, located in the southern fringe of the vast Boreal Forest in northern Ontario, to the logging road just a few miles from their home. The sisters felled trees over the road to protest unwanted logging on their land by Abitibi Consolidated. They then headed home, afraid their father would be mad at them. Instead, he was proud. Their protest was the spark that ignited their small community of 1,000 to launch a sustained direct-action campaign to stop logging."
